Synapse Notes ("the Application") is developed and operated by System by Design AB ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we handle your data. This Privacy Policy describes how we access, use, store, or share Google user data when you use Synapse Notes.

2. Data Collection (Google User Data)

We only collect or process the following categories of personal data when you use or interact with our products and services:

• Identity Information: Your email address and basic profile info (name, profile picture) provided via Google OAuth.
• Purpose: This data is used solely for authentication, account identification, and to provide you with the services you requested.

3. Use of Google User Data

We limit our use of Google user data to providing or improving user-facing features that are prominent in the Application's user interface.

• AI Integration: With your explicit consent, your note content may be processed by Google Gemini or Imagen APIs to provide summaries or visual assets.
• Prohibited Uses: We do NOT use your Google user data for:
  • Targeted advertising.
  • Selling to data brokers or information resellers.
  • Determining credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.
  • Training AI Models: We never use your data to train general AI models.

4. Data Sharing & Transfer

We do not transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than the ones provided in this policy. Specifically:

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We only share data with service providers (like Google Enterprise APIs) to the extent necessary to provide the features you explicitly use.
• These service providers are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We store your personal information for a period of time that is consistent with our business purposes and to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.

• Retention: Data is retained as long as your account is active.
• Deletion: When the data retention period expires or upon your request, we will delete or destroy your data. You may request for your data to be deleted at any time through the Application settings.

6. Security Procedures

Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. We use encryption to protect your information, including AES-256 for all user-generated content.
